Then the character of the journey changes. We leave the open viewpoints behind and descend into a narrow river gorge, where water has carved its way through the rock over thousands of years. The trail follows the river closely, with sections crossing metal footholds and secured passages above the water. The surroundings are damp, rocky and full of small details that reveal themselves when we slow down.
